A happi made from discharge-dyed cotton, the pattern drawn out by lifting color away from the dyed ground rather than printing onto it. The cloth is worked this way in Chiang Mai, each bolt chosen by hand.
The straight, open sleeves follow the old festival form — made to layer over almost anything, worn loose and unhurried. The cotton softens slowly with wear, keeping a trace of every season it passes through.
