A Fujino house that built slowly. All made by hand from 77 years old grandpa “Akira & Mitsuko Tsutsui“👴👵😍🎶
Every detail he collected carries its own story.
The mosaic walls were gathered from demolished houses
some pieces from the Edo period,
some from sculpted glass.
What was once unwanted now lives again.
He designed his own fireplace,
guiding the smoke through a spiral path inside the stove
to reduce pollution
and warm the house at the same time.
Less waste.
More care.
More thought for others.
Sustainability here is not a trend.
It is patience.
It is devotion.
In Fujino, I felt something very rare
a life dedicated to making,
not to chasing more money,
but simply wishing for more time
to continue building.
People like this feel almost extinct.
Genius but gentle.
And we laughed,
He saying if he doesn’t finish the house soon,
his wife might kill him. 😂
This is the rhythm we are learning.
